Cancer Update #5 - from Karen

Thu, 12/26/2024 - 15:04 -- Doug

I have the difficult job of informing you all the sad news that Doug passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024. He went into cardiac arrest and was resuscitated only long enough for Galan, Angela, his sister Jill and me to arrive and say our goodbyes.

I ask that NO SOCIAL MEDIA POST be made so that we can contact friends and relatives ourselves.

Cancer Update #4

Wed, 12/11/2024 - 18:23 -- Doug

Dear Family and Friends:

I hadn’t been expecting to write quite this soon, but a lot of people have been asking Karen questions, so I’m trying to get this out. As I detailed in the last update, I expected to return home last Tuesday night or Wednesday after having my first infusion of the antibody. But it didn’t work out that way.

Cancer Update #3

Sun, 12/01/2024 - 13:16 -- Doug

Dear Family and Friends:

Happy Thanksgiving! Karen and I were planning to spend today with my sister Jill and family. But with an abundance of caution, decided to just have the two of us. I’ve been feeling both fatigued and a little bit nauseous for a few days – and I’m really hoping to make it to Monday without any issues.

Cancer Update

Tue, 10/29/2024 - 11:08 -- Doug

Dear Family and Friends:

As some of you know, I have cancer and have been in chemotherapy since early September. Thanks to those of you who have reached out to express concern and support.

Three hospital visits in July, August, and September for issues with my GI tract ended with a diagnosis of t-cell lymphoma and a first chemo session. I’m currently scheduled for six three-week sessions. The third started Friday October 18th. There is some imaging coming on November 1st that may change the plan.
